Don't put the valve core in until you get it to seat. After that you just take your air hose off and screw it in while it's emptying and fill it back again. Valve core will restrict airflow and if the tire is stubborn to seat it helps. I've seen this in many tire shops they do this all the time.

I’ve got the exact same issue with my rear tire which is size 285/25/20 on a 20x8.5J wheel which I just bought. I don’t want it to get scratches and stuff, but I should deflate first and then put WD40 in the part where the tire won’t pop in right? Any help would be great
