I know this is 2yrs old, but you just helped this moto noob change his first tire without dropping an extra $70 on a bead breaker! It's much appreciated, thanks for spreading the knowledge

I have just struggled for over an hour. with no joy to break the second bead with tyre levers. Found this video, break the bead in seconds. Fantastic, thanks very much for sharing this tip.

On the rear tire of my 1994 Suzuki intruder 1400 this video saved me. This was exactly what I needed. After watching went downstairs with my 3 little tire irons and a workout mat for knee and wheel protection and popped that bead. Thanks!

It works!!! I have to admit, the first time I tried this method, I was beyond frustrated. Then I came back to it a few months later with a better temperament, and it was so easy!

Thanks so much!

HOLY CRAP I'M FAMOUS! Glad my instructions worked out for you! With a little practice, you'll get the feel right and be able to do this without scratching. In my garage, I use a crude lever contraption bolted to my workbench because it's faster, but this works out in the field. It works even better when it's a real roadside flat, because the tire is still warm. It usually takes two or three tries to break the bead, and for #2 you might have had a slightly easier time a little closer to the original spot.

Omg it This is going to save me so much time trying to break the bead when I change tyres and just saved me buying a bead breaker tool.

This just saved my upcoming motorcycle trip after trying to break this darn bead for over an hour. Thank you! I'll definitely be using this method going forward.

This worked for me and I only had 2 spoons and no fan. What I did was work all the way around the tire to loosen it up and then used the method but using 1-in spacing since I only had two spoons and it sounds like your fingers snapping when the beads pop thanks for sharing

Did It the same way a couple days ago on a sticky more then 10 years tire. Worked very well. Better then I thought it would. So thank you !

Did this over the weekend. Handy video. I just needed to do it in a couple of different locations around the tire before the bead broke off. Thank you so much.

This was a game changer for me. I have changed my own tires for a few years but always struggled with breaking the bead i various good and bad ways. Yesterday I tried to simply use the spoons as in this video and it worked first try!

Tried it. Worked. Brilliant. Small spoons were better. Thank you!

Excellent video. Like the way you kept it short & sweet. I would have juiced it up with soapy water and lengthen the 3 spoons. Thank you for taking your time to help others.

All I can say is that learning these little tricks is the difference between a lot of blood and anger. I've been using a long 2x4 and a small piece of 2x4 as the 'breaker' that pushes down on the tire. I stick the wheel under my car and use the body of the car as the wedge point to lift up on the long board and push down on the sidewall with my small 2x4 piece. It works, and doesn't scratch up paint or destroy the rubber of the tire if it's going back on. But I also own these same three tire irons in the video and I'm going to try it out on older bikes and dirt bike tires.

"It did it ... I see it!" 😊
That must be one of the most satisfying moments for a DIY'er. I will try this myself one of these days.

I had no idea I could use my irons to do that! I went downstairs and removed the back tire from my 93 Ninja 600r in 5 minutes flat. Thank you for the demo!
