Xtool D1 pro 10W - After 6 months the laser head failed. Warranty replacement took 3 weeks to resolve. Many emails repeatedly sending info I had previously supplied. Then they did nothing for a week during 'spring break'. While waiting, I purchased a Roly MK2 20W - great machine.

It's paid for, still useful, but definately worth looking at newer styles in 2024 if you're buying new unless you're getting it real cheap! I still enjoy mine and it comes in useful for most of what I'm doing today.

Con- parts regularly out of stock by xtool, limited support from xtool after a year
Pro-price point to have multiple units, i have 1 extended and one regular that the RA2 can stay attached to, no need to have upgrades to electrical or permanent holes in walls(it can go in a basic power strip like a computer and wont blow breakers, can replace quickly, can fully operate with ipad app, work space(i cut down 4x8 sheets on it)

Sadly xTool discontinued this model and any parts availability. I imagine that the same thing will happen with each model they make. I have also experienced the longevity of the laser module to be 25% of the projected lifespan...So it lasts just long enough for the warranty to expire. I've also seen an over saturated laser craft market and have seen several people close their businesses down due to too much supply and not enough demand. No longer a goldmine, just a sand trap.😢

I got mine today. Xtool was selling refurbished models so I got the machine, the enclosure, the air assist and the honeycomb for about $500 total, so for that price I think it's pretty good. Having problem with smoke though, so we'll see if my wife lets me keep using it.

According to Xtool, using the 40w on the D1 Pro requires a motherboard and cable swap that is not backwards compatible with earlier, lower watt heads.

Did you misspeak or have you been able to use an unmodified Xtool D1 to run ALL of the swappable heads, including the 40w?

Thanks for a reply.
