I think the real problem with Gurjaras is they have the best camels in the game hands down. They have a unique infantry unit that massacres the camel counters. A unique unit that massacres archers. And a technology that makes all of those units even easier to spam. It's just doubling down on the opression as the game goes on.

Really sad that sicilians got nerfed.
They were already a meh civ for regular games

I feel like the nerf to the Elite Coustillier in particular might have significant effects to their raiding potential, since individual units don't register if the unit they're attacking has 5 HP left. Because of this, it's possible that two Coustiliers have their charge attack used on a single unit since it survived first attack, and the other one lands and gets wasted on the 5 HP unit, rather than using it on another. This could effectively half their potential burst damage output.

Here's hoping they will buff Sicilian infantry in the future. I think they feel much better as an infantry civ than a frank sidegrade.

0:26 That's actually always been the case! Although I don't think too many people realized it. In the original game Wolves attacked Villagers at distances depending on the difficulty level: 4 tiles on Easiest, 6 tiles on Standard, and 12 tiles above standard. But military units were always 4 tiles, regardless of the difficulty.

omg I can't accept they removed treadmill crane from teutons and sicilians... totally not fair... and the sicilian bonus nerf too like wtf
just leave sicilians alone, they're just an ok civ already...

Most of these changes are based on pro feedback. Burgundians are considered to be one of the best civs in the game by pros. It was on Hera's 5 civs that need a nerf video. Sicilians are almost unkillable in late game with an archer civ. You have no answer to hauberk, first crusade cavs. Going full halb wasn't enough.

I agree with you, and the devs, that bringing in minor tweaks vs major tweaks is the way to go. Not just in games as complicated as this one, but in all games. The devs get more accurate information and the players don't have to adapt as much, or worry about getting completely pushed out. It's a win - win strategy.

Why have they nerfed teutons?!?
Their late game and defensive buildings are a big part of their identity. And treadmill crane is important for that.

I share your love for the Sicilians. Alongside the Franks, Britons and Italians I would love to see them get A, B, S unit skins depicting Norman crusader knights, with kite shields and nasal helms.... Deus Vault

The balance of this patch feels like a joke: All the things they are trying with bengalis is not going to work, as it does not address the issues of the civ.
Also, not nerfing the chakrams is stupid! I would argue that the change to shrivamsha riders is not the best one (I would deactivate the shield against gunpowder and siege, and probably decrease their movement speed)
