Ecoboost kills. I mean, misfire issues aside, when it’s running smooth it beats the pants of all other trucks in it’s class.

When it’s time to replace those turbos and they cost more than the truck is worth that V8 will sure be looking good.

Having owned(past tense) an ecoboost, I’ll take the 5.0 any day.

Yeah but that 5.0 is going to last a lot longer before needing a rebuild

personally, i raced a 2018 ecoboost in a 2013 5.0 f150 both were the fx4 package i believe and i definitely got whooped…

what happens when the 5.0 has twin turbo or is supercharged?

because thats what all true truck users care about, your 0-60 in a straight line, not the hauling capabilities..

I bought the 5.0 for less maintenance.
It's been 9 yrs and my buddy's 3.5 been took apart twice for timing b.s.
My 5.0 has had a water pump that's it.

The ecoboost is maxed out the 5.0 is untapped potential get a mans car get a v8😂

Guys you don’t see an ecoboost holding the title for fastest street truck cause the one holding it is a 5.0

I don't hate on any engine but I love my 5.0. Nothing beats the sound of a V8. At the end of the day, get what you like.

Honestly the 5.0 is a better platform. It’ll run 11s with just bolt ons in the 10 speed variant

you can hate in v8s all you like, we can see the jealousy and your little eco boost

Yeah but if you floor it every day it will break while the 5.0 will last forever.

Had them both 🔥 but you can make more power with a v8 and twins 😈

Yeah but that direct injection on the eco-boost means your valves are going to get pretty nasty pretty quick. And the last I heard the only fix there is for that is an engine disassembly. Won’t have that problem on the old 5.0.

Stock turbos on the 3.5 holds it back. If it were a properly sized turbo, then it wouldnt struggle as much. Then again, just boost the 5.0 with oil pump gears and cam sprockets and you got a 650-700hp truck on 93, 700-740ish with e85

Just saying my family has a f150 2.7L V6 eco boast 2015. Very nice truck and the biggest replace needed so far is a catalytic converter. Ignore the people who say that its not durable. Oh by the way it has 341, 000 miles of usage so far and hoping to get it to 500, 000.

It's all fun and game until the 5.0 gets ANY type of boost. Shit, you could just upgrade the internals of the 5.0 and smack a tune on it and the ecoboost doesn't look so good anymore. If you try to push those stock turbos anymore you fuck it all up.meanwhile, the 5.0 can get twin turbos, a procharger, compound turbos, a Whipple, twinscrew, or roots style supercharger. Stock it might look light a better deal, but 10 years into ownership we both know who wins. Unless the ecoboosters just trash the motors after 200k when they blow and swap em for a crate motor

Got a 22 platinum 5.0 v8 3.73 gears.
Has a level with 34 inch Nitto ridge grapplers

Done 0-60 in 5.8 seconds and 1/4mile in 13.9 seconds @ 99.49mph
Love it 👍🏻🇺🇸
Can’t wait to see how it does with a Corsa cat back and a tune
