One playthrough I decided to get as many skill points as possible (took Skilled, Tag perk, 10 INT, found every skill book, etc) and I had every skill maxed at 100 by Level 43. That -10% debuff really isn't that much of a tradeoff.

Always thought i lvled too fast till i discovered this trait. Hot blooded is good too for tough situations.

There's another trick to exploit a trait using the sink's auto-doc. Save the psych evaluation until you hit max level (50 with all DLCs) and then take Logan's Loophole. You will retain all your perks, skills etc. from levels 31-50 and get the benefits of Logan's Loophole (No more getting addicted to chems and they last twice as long).
It's also worth noting this perk is a reference to an old Sci-Fi film, Logan's Run, where society maintains resources by killing everyone who turns 30.

Taking Logan’s loophole for no withdrawal and x2 chem duration is insane. Once you’re getting close to lv30 just go to the sink and get new traits!

Tip: Collect every unique item from Wild Wasteland like the Holy hand grenades or seymour (exept for the alien blaster) witness every funny wild wasteland event. Go to the Auto-Doc in OWB and pick skilled again and pick up Hot Blooded, super underrated trait. It gives 15% damage when your HP goes below 50%

Complete OWB. Return to the mojave and go collect the YCS/186 gauss rifle instead of the alien blaster.

I love skilled + Logan's loophole, It helps you not outpace the game too fast but lets you meet some skillchecks early !

The choice is obvious. You can get 100 in every skill in the game if you max intelligence and get skilled

I wait till the end of lonesome road to take the wacky wasteland trait. This way, you can get the YCS/186 special gauss rifle and then go back for the alien blaster. It also makes the rest of the game a different experience that late in.

There's way more than enough Experience in this game, especially with the DLC.

Tip: Get the "Small Frame" trait so you can get the "Tough Guy" challenge perk faster, then switch to another trait once you reach Old World Blues. Or you can keep the trait for the agility bonus while the Tough Guy perk and the weaker limb penalty cancel each other out. I would not recommend this on hardcore mode however, unless you're thinking about getting the "Eye for Eye" perk or something.

I use this, the run goodsprings run glitch, and the ammo hotkey glitch to get more perks than possible, functionally infinite ammo for every gun, and tons of xp points at the start of the game. I play on my Xbox 360 so don’t have access to console commands

I love doing this, my favorite bug in the game

I always use a mod to have Wild Wasteland as a part of the game and pick Skilled and Small Frame for the extra Agility point.

The Tough Guy challenge basically removes the downside of Small Frame and makes the game slightly more challenging.
