Good video! I visited a couple months ago and found some of these things to be true. I still have to experience more to realize all of your list, but thank you.

I agreed about the close circle friends, I'm Colombia and I lived in USA and I found very exciting to meet new people and it was easy there. But even for me it is hard around here and it isn't quality people.

Thank you so very much for this valuable information...As i watch this, I'm thinking seriously to move there and like you said probably a good thing at least to rent in the beginning and eventually purchase a House or a Condo... My goal is to retire there and good think I do speak Spanish lived in Puerto Rico for 12 yrs. I love the Latino Ppl. always did and for some reason they like me also, makes it easy and very comfortable being among them in their culture....Plainning to come visit soon to see and what to expect and finally decide to make the move....Once again thank you for your videos i just subscribed to your channel, your doing a fabulous job in conveying such important info. to us all... Ohh... has anybody told you, you have beautiful hands....My compliments.

Very right about Spanish. I spent ten days there and there were only two times that people jumped in with English as I struggled to find appropriate words in Spanish. But people were generally patient with my efforts. 🇨🇴

Great tips but i would add that many places that you are able to use a card for payment will charge a service fee. Also, outside of Medellin don’t rely on being able to just use a card, many places will not except anything but COP….tiny inconvenience for such an incredible country.

I definitely left one of the larger expats groups. I’m only on fb for the group connections so to see some of the stuff they post and the way responses were to some people were disgusting! I’m going to mainly pick up the language and experience the culture so I’m hoping to build great connections from the school

Thank you for taking the time for this report, I found it very helpful. You are clearly an earnest person, invaluable not only on YT but in helping expat wannabes. Best of luck to you.

Hi,
You're absolutely right about the #5 Topic.
And not only happens to foreigners, even in our inner
social circle there are always kind of distance at any given moment... You put in the table something that is true but nobody wants to talks about it...
MAYBE it could be
because We have a big part of our culture that immigrated 500 YearsAgo
from Iberia [Jews Sefardi],
fleeing from the Inquisition...
So always living the life at the edge....
Clearly your point is👌

Do you have a video on investment real estate in Medellin?

I heard when you said that paisas are so clased to their groups of family and not widly opened to foreign people could be due their violence past, well could be in part true; but is also known that paisas have their background with Jewish inmogrants that came cast out from Spain; so they mantain some traditions that maintain joint together with their relatives and they are willing to give a preference to work with someone from their region.; their culture is willing to support each other.

This was super helpful! The advice I usually find on these types of videos is super generic, but it’s clear your 5-year stay has given you a perspective that YouTubers who stay for just a few months just don’t have. I’ll be moving to Medellín in three short months — aah!! I’ll continue enjoying your videos in the meantime. Cheers!

Great video! Very informative. Keep up the great work! BTW, what does the term "paisa" refers to in Colombia?

Te apoyé aquí en tus vídeos de Español y….. I will now continue my support to this new twist on your channel. Please don’t despair, because once the algorithm picks the new content it will place it in the right level and you will be muy grande. I’m in the middle of the same predicament, my channel is bilingual and either I make a full Spanish video and descuidar my English speaking audience or viceversa. Currently considering splitting into two channels. Échale ganas and maybe in the future we can make a collaboration!

Tu Compa Chuy!
Great Information about Colombia!
P.S. Your bell continues to be activated for your videos!
