Is it safe to assume that the procedure is the same for a 2016 991 GTS ?

Use a 36mm socket rather than a crescent wrench, just one slip, scratch. Also put down a towel or shop fender protectors to avoid scratches. Use an 6 or 10 inch socket extension to release the oil filter cap, with only 19 lbs of torque, this very easy. Remember few things require knuckle busting torque, excluding engine heads, wheel lugs and such. Oil drain plug at 37 lbs of torque sounds like a bunch, rather it is a snug fit to compress the new aluminum seal, so sung it up, and then use your feel, about 1/8 of a turn to tighten if you do not have a torque wrench. Test check for any leaks. Only my dealer caused a leak since he was cheap and use the old drain plug and o ring. Watch out for fake work at Dealers, called mine out and when we did the reveal, busted.
