wouldn't be a problem for me staying in bed all day, I've been in and out of hospitals my entire life!

well if NASA can impede their calorie intake to maintain basal metabolic functions they won't gain any excess weight. Not that hard to do. Muscle tone and vitamin D levels may take a dive due to lack of sunlight, but they make a vitamin to everything nowadays.
