About CVV, critical piece of info missing:
As per PCI regulations merchants are forbidden to store your CVV. They may store your card # and expiration date but *not* the CVV - this must be manually entered by the cardholder at transaction time. So in theory even if your CC info is stolen from a merchant your CVV should be safe. But note that merchants are not obligated to ask for the CVV.

Good content man, I am working with a global bank as a customer service agent. God knows how many unauthorized transactions reports I received everyday. It's confusing to think how the transaction happened without customer knowledge and approval.

I had my card used in a transaction from India (over $300) and I have never been to India or have used my credit card online which baffled me. My bank thankfully blocked it but the fact that people can pull credit card numbers out of nowhere is horrifying to me. I work hard for my money and people stealing it are worse than scum to me.

Dude, you need to mention the possibility of locking cards when not in use. My bank and CC can be locked so no new purchases can be made while allowing previous authorized transactions to go through.

I need to know how to protect myself. I went to the store and came back all of my cards are gone from where I secretly keep them. The person took all of it my medical insurance cards my debit cards even cards that I no longer use from years ago. How do I report everything not just call the bank. I'm so afraid that someone is going to use my cards or steal my identity.
