Half the American population doesn’t understand what science is. They think its a thing, not a method. If they guess the stove is hot, and they test it by touching it, they have no awareness that they just did science. Lol. They don’t understand this stuff even when its put into layman’s terms for them. They don’t understand falsifiability or the peer review process. They don’t understand that science is self correcting and the only way to correct or falsify a previous theory is to come up with a better model, using science lol. They don’t understand that science has data on its side, instead of just, guessing. Its amazing how simple the concept is, and how more people in this country than in any other have such a difficult time grasping it
