Its not the lighting that is important, it is the mood. For example, if all you saw from this game was the afternoon orange lighting, then all you would think is that it looks cool and is darker. It is the fact that you know the mood changes from day to afternoon that gives you the mood change.

I have been skeptical on Unity because it has a lack of features for 3D Until I thought that Unity 2D maybe have More features than 3D so Here is my plan, For 3D Unreal engine 4, For 2D and 2.5D Unity

Could you tell me what canvas size you used for your background trees? And pixels per unit inside unity as well, I'm having a little trouble importing my own backgrounds made in aseprite.

Just dont go too polished or the classic pixel art feel gets lost imo

It's not lighting in unity! It's just lighting in general, unity sucks anyway. There better engines with even better lighting systems
