The top one looks more like a common cartoon which I personally think works vetter, the bottom one is just overly smooth

18 feels natural.
180 feels like a Chernobyl project.

at first glance it’s difficult to notice something, but after you pause, and you catch a couple of glitched frames - the brain itself catches the damned moments in real time •-• this can really be an eyesore

If anybody here watched Noodle's interpolation video...

Yeah...

I think it's safe to say keep the top one.

The 180 may be a higher framerate, but it sure as heck ain't the best thing to look at.

Some moments look smooth sure, but the in-between frames blend one with the other without taking the illustration to effect.

It's like the drawing is a solid object, the in-between is that object turning into vapor, then back into a solid object when the next frame hits.

Not only that, but 18 out of 180 frames are solid, the rest are filler. Splodges of color fill the screen to ulate the image moving, but ultimately it's just a binary code of connect the dots. And the computer will do that in the most efficient and lifeless way possible.

Stick to 18 plz. Thx.

Pc gamers when they realize animations don't need high fps

I love how Noodle has just singlehandedly killed the trend of using AI interpolation over 2D animation.

The 180 fps looks smooth at first, then you notice the classic AI blurs

In my opinion I don’t think interpolation should be used in 2d animation

i saw a video on this yesterday, where people use AI to make someones animation smoother but it ends up just making the smear frames and others look like garbage and look like a blurry mess

18fps provides a more satisfying transition to things than something overly smooth. it can add an aspect of exaggeration, cartoony and comedic effect you cant gain with something so excessively smooth.

18fps is better. Smoothing messes up the motion.

It Cant Just Be Me Who Sees No Difference 💀 [Its Really Good, the skull is not a hate sign, that just my reaction to see everyone seeing a difference but me] 😂

180 isn’t necessarily bad, it just needs to be drawn by a person instead of being interpolated using AI.

A fact I can’t ever express enough: more FPS does NOT make anything better. Low FPS gives a film/animation character rather than being smooth and quite blatantly boring. That’s why Sony Animations is actually utilizing that and it SUCCEEDED. I DONT GET WHY PEOPLE THINK THIS. More FPS ≠ BETTER ANIMATION. It just looks shitty, especially when done this way.
