It’s been barely a decade since two researchers came up with a plan to edit DNA in order to disrupt genetic disorders, but the UK has just become the first country to approve a therapy based on Crispr gene editing. Crispr technology could transform medicine, but questions such as the long-term effects on patients, how much it will cost, and who will have access to it, still need answers.

Please God make this advance fast enough in my lifetime before I succumb to Li-Fraumeni Syndrome (Genetic predisposition to cancer). Already survived 2 cancers before age 40.

Could use more real details about the advanced RNA pico-robotic CRISPR modifications that enable this, and the issues with biological integration and systemic manipulation. Its a delicate process, and outliness a completely disease and disability-free future, provided closed-minded left or right political extremism doesn't take it over, or any 'democratic' systems to gain a twisted level of control and oppression.

Comparing it to transistor only works if it wasn't completely unaffordable
