One of the best performances on Dave Letterman's show's history! Period.

This is literally how she became famous. After debuting on tv, everyone was like WATT

Eleven years later this is still amazing. I remember seeing this and being like "WHO IS THAT?" We know who she is now. What a talent, Janelle Monáe. Probably the greatest musical performance ever on the Late Show with David Letterman.

Watched GLASS ONION, then searched for this. I was so very fortunate to be in the audience for this mind & roof-blowing performance by @JanelleMonae. It was an electric moment & jaw-dropping. Went straight out & bought the CD. The crowd went "WTF" insane! We had no idea what was about to hit us. Magical. Powerful.

I really never get tired seeing this Janelle's debut, also, only thing that I really think was missing in this footage was the people's astonishing and wonder faces. It always gives me the chills when the horn section begins and she dances like s#@$

I hoping to gather a group of fans to spread this women's talent and message. Love her, more people needs her music. Her music doesn't need to change, it's the people who needs to change.

About time someone brought back TRUE performers.
No more of this autotuned, backup dancing, over the top special effects crap.

True performers capture you with only themselves. She can sing live, dance timelessly, and entertain with only her onstage. This is a true artist.

Saw her last night on Monique & was so impressed! She kicked butt, and put a smile on my face, a breath of fresh air, to say the least. You go girl!

I saw this performance the night it aired on Letterman. ELECTRIC, is the only word I could think of. I have since seen it dozens of time - never gets old. Great to see a KCK girl make good. What an incredible talent, one of a kind.

One of the best performers in the last 5 - 10 years for sure. I hope to see more from her soon. She brings talent back into the stage like no one I have seen in awhile.

Kellindo Parker is lead guitar (he is on your right with the hair swingin' to the beat)....his uncle, Maceo Parker, was the bass man for James Brown....and you can sure see that coming out at the end.
