Power BI - Gantt chart showing asset hire periods. How to create off-hire periods in gantt chart.

preview_player
Показать описание
Power BI - a customised gantt chart shows the dates assets are on hire. The chart is then updated to show the gap periods when the assets are available for hire. The off-hire periods are not in the dataset therefore they are created using a merge, with the available periods then appended to the original dataset. Part of the this process involves resolving the issue of comparing the dates on one line with dates on another.

Timings approximately:
00:00 Introduction
00:28 Explain data
00:50 Create gantt chart with hire periods
04:05 Create hire gap periods (asset available for hire)
06:45 Merge to move data down one row
10:00 Create available start and end dates
12:30 Append queries
17:30 Asset hire period ends one day, new hire period starts the next
20:30 Create available period after the last hire date

Hello Pauline. Thanks for sharing your instruction! For some reason, I cannot drop my end date in the field provided. Nothing happens. The start date field can be used without any problems. Do you have any idea why this is happening?
