I paid my loans. My son also worked his butt of to pay his. We want the government to send us 10k. All they do is take our money.

It may not be fair to those who have already paid off their loans; however, forgiving all the current loans may help to improve things by allowing students to inject freed up capital back into the economy. I've already paid off my loans but I'm trying to look at the bigger picture and what's best for everyone in the long run, not just myself.

Student loan forgiveness doesn't forgive the loan. It just transfers the loan to those who never asked for the loan, agreed to the loan, or benefitted from the loan. If you signed your name on the loan then you should pay it back.

This debt will fall on the American taxpayers make no mistake. The ones who didn't go to college, the ones who paid their student loans off, the parents who sacrificed to pay their kids college. Funny no mention of them doing community service to repay just give them free money.

10 K is NOT enough! For those of you complaining about paying it off and taxes, just know two things …. 1 when you paid it off The Empire Strikes Back was in the movie theater for the first time, and 2 you have absolutely no control over where your tax money goes, and by the way, it’s going to Ukraine. Much rather have it go to Americans then to other countries. If your not okay with that philosophy then you can get on a plane and leave !

Any student loan forgiveness must be coupled with a like amount of tax credit to those who paid their way. And how can Brandon willy-nilly give loan forgiveness? Congress enacted the law/program, and it should be Congress who changes the law/program not someone for political expediency.
