Why Toxic Endgame Destiny 2 Players are Parasites! A Destiny 2 Rant.

We've all run into them, people who care about only themselves and what they can get done in the game. Many Endgame players are helpful and promote the community but when they don't and become Toxic they are parasites bringing the community down and taking up resources that should be available to all guardians. I talk through my thoughts on this in this video. This video is current as of Season of the deep or season 21.

Thank you thank you thank you for making this know it takes me 3 to 4 weeks to pump myself up to look for a raid team because of how crazy my anxiety is I don’t think these raid communities and endgame players especially PVP players will understand at the end of the day it’s just a game

People like that feed off of their feelings of superiority and their self esteem is interlinked in a toxic relationship with destiny. It’s all about the power they have over people. They become elitist and jaded that others can’t be as good as they are. It’s just a way to bully others and feel better about themselves

As a returning D2 player from two months ago after a 5 year hiatus, I decided to join a clan about 3 weeks ago. I have now left that clan. I started to notice jealousy and toxicity towards new members that had achieved any kind of success in the end game. Here is my story about my first clan and so called clan mates.

So I went to the Lighthouse this week after toiling with trials for a couple of weeks. (Admittedly I was terrible at it at first could hit a damn thing!) A very proud me posted that I'd got to the LH on the Clan page. Not one post of well done, nothing. Anyway about 4 hours later someone had gone through all my trials game history (yes every single game 170+ games) and seen that my K/D record wasn't the best. So they posted it in on the PVP page and mocked me. I CBA with that type of stuff I never claimed I was the best at the game and I am now once again clanless after deciding to leave said clan. LOL

I have quite enjoyed the game as a whole so far and met some decent people too. I don't like elitist mentally some have, but thats just humans unfortunately. Every person has to go on journey and some are better then others but how did all the KWTDr's - KWTD?

Honestly how it was for me to start with. The group im playing with now are an amazing bunch of people and i regard them as family not just some people i know online. Our clan we run aims to help people and just to try and make people enjoy the game as much as possible and if they are struggling we make time for them and i thoroughly enjoy every second. Ive had the same experience as you with the toxicity and it hurts just knowing that it still happens. Great content as always dude keep up the good work.

These are the same ones who WILL kick you for A.-being a warlock and not using well to keep THEM Alive while they struggle with their 'meta' build. B.- Kick you for not having a certain weapon with a catalyst that they NEED you to have so THEY can do massive damage. C.-If it is your FIRST time on a raid or dungeon they put you doing the HARDEST thing there is to do in the raid, then when you fail{ being your first time} proceed to yell, name-call, make fun of or just downright run you in the ground because you screwed THEIR perfect run and see absolutely NO reason why you should not be able to do it. This is why i wont do dungeons or raids or actively join clans.

This is the first video I've come across of yours, and you've earned a sub. Couldn't agree more with the message. For me, the best and worst experiences I've had in D2 are in end game content.

The worst experience I've had was my first Root of Nightmares LFG, coming back to the game after a 6 year break. Raid was going well, everyone was chilling, laughing, and having a good time, up until Nez and the 2 guys who were teaching had to leave. We replaced them with two randoms and the entire dynamic of the fireteam changed. They started targeting me specifically when my damage wasn't up to par, and offered zero advice/teaching on my loadout, just kept blaming me for the entire team's failure. And being "new" again, I already had anxiety about LFGing, and it just made that anxiety worse.

The only good thing that came from that experience was the realization that I never wanted that to happen again in a fireteam I was a part of. So I learned all the ins and outs of the raid, but more importantly, learned how to teach it in ways that weren't overwhelming to new folks. And while many players are complaining about how the game is dying and there's nothing to do, I've found a little niche that I enjoy, teaching the raid every night, and meeting cool new people who will hopefully take the good experience they had and teach someone else.

Of course the game isn't perfect - it certainly has a lot of things that could be improved. But, I wish more players realized that the game is what YOU make it. All this toxic energy players have could be channeled into something far more productive, and maybe even help them find something about the game they enjoy again.

An unfortunate trend in the D2 community as of late had been that the most vocal members of the community tend to be the most inflammatory and unhelpful and toxic. They have the biggest voices despite the things theyre saying not actually seeking to improve the game but rather to make the discourse around it more negative. Thats why im glad you made this video, there needs to be more people actively calling out that type of behavior, whether its in the community on social media or the community in game. Positive voices are always a win and i appreciate people like you who understand that part of being a positive voice is calling out toxicity or unhelpful negativity. You deserve more subs fr.

Keeping doing what you’re doing!

Took a year off and your raid videos allowed me to confidently join Raid LFGs knowing I knew the mechanics and cheeses. You helped me get to rank 11.

I’ll continue to remove toxic players out my life, one Block at a time😂

I can understand your point of view, we have all had an experience with toxic folks. Where i have a difderence of opinion is on the Conqueror title. I definitely do not play full time, really when clan mates can. I was able to focus and put time into my conqueror title. The label you attached to that as a "Parasite:... not cool man, not cool...

I've been playing since Destiny released and in my experience, it wasn't as toxic as it is nowadays. It's unfortunate, but its true. I used to get anxious playing trials because of the messages I'd get, but then I just started to pity people who can't control their emotions...especially just playing a videogame. If someone is all ego, don't let their lack of joy and awareness take yours away.

Fortunately, a lot of helpful, mature, patient, and understanding guardians still exist! Albeit, a little hard to find these days, but we're still around!

Videos like this help to connect like-minded people who just enjoy Destiny for what it is, a game!

Always down to help no matter what it is. Lets get it! Roach#8431

I started at the bottom and now am an ascendant, been solo flawless everytime I try, paragon, done master gms, gilded conquerors title multiple, done majority of raids plus 20x and not once talked down to someone because I expected them to carry me or teach me properly. While you do come across truly bs people who are toxic, You’d be surprised how much hate mail I get as a top all around 10% or better player and it’s from mid of the pack players. I’ve tried skull dragging people at the bottom to help them through comp and gm or master raids and a lot of times they leave because we been at the same thing for over 4hrs and they “can’t” learn, more like refuse to learn, the mechanics. Being top % isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, you gotta be perfect or you get trolled by the paramecium who would never 1v1 or carry a gm on Light blade when boss is half health and your last alive on a stasis lock 🤦🏼‍♂️and then the mid player gets mad at you for not carrying 50% of the time. just be honest, there are more toxic players at the “mid” percent than top because there are more people in that range. At the top % everything is more concentrated due to smaller amount of players. Yes they are more vocal but that’s because they sink more time in, and if you love something you are more likely to call them on their bs. Now sure there are crazy people and the ones at the top as I’ve said are more vocal, but surprisingly the middle tier players are far worse because they can easily ruin the game with their influence of numbers and lack of understanding/experience and years of playing a single game, yet make solutions up out of mid air like ae, sbmm, ease of game, etc… that actually make the game worse for people who took the time to put effort into the game and conquer their lack of skills, experience, and knowledge. You got my respect but make sure you see it from both sides.

I’m on my wife’s account here but I’m going to chime in here: First off thank you for making this video! I just happened to come cross it and I’m now subscribed because I had put in a search “ Destiny 2 players are toxic” to see what came up.
Earlier in the week I had posted on the forums how Bungie needs to think about players with disabilities when they make up activities such as the new exotic class item mission that only allows two players. I had shared in my post some background being deaf in one ear and partially in the other and having had multiple surgeries to my mouth and throat so speaking clearly doing call outs ie it’s witness, drink and fleet is difficult for me and how I disliked Bungie making this two man activity hard for people like me. If they had made it three man then I could get two clan mates to help shoulder the parts I know I’m going to have a rough time with. Haven’t done anything other then unlock it to be able to launch it but I’ve watched the videos.
Man did the toxic comments start flying, even had one winner of an example of a fine human being ask “ If I could just not be disabled “ and numerous comments about whining about the game being too hard. Most completely missed my point: Bungie didn’t think about players like me. This activity was catering to the high end players which I considered myself to be up until this activity and the last two raids. There are some positions in the raids I’d simply not be capable of doing. Makes me wish I never posted anything because the amount of vile and dismissive comments are still rolling in even though I’m done even looking at them.
I know this was long winded but it’s still very toxic imo

Thank you for this video. I feel like you explained in a respectful manner what has made this game difficult for a lot of players.
Whenever me and my sister play the game we're always so surprised to meet respectful players. That's how bad it is....that it drops my jaw if we actually encounter real team-players. And that's even without mentioning the toxicity of some players in the game.
The thing is; Destiny is a multiplayer game. And ofcourse Bungie plays into that.
Even forcing it at times.
But Destiny 2 has a lot of solo players that play team activities but then play solely for themselves and try to F you over whenever they can for a better score. (Or something)
Even if it costs the team as a whole.
I have a clan and whenever i am asked to help i rarely say no.
I agree that we can all help each other along the way.
We were all beginners starting out.
Most of us didn't start this game with a complete 'know how' on what to do.
If somebody is inexperienced, instead of scolding them, just respectfully explain.
And if you're not willing to explain, at the very least, stay respectful.
Let's not forget there's actual people behind every 'guardian'.
Thank you to whoever had the patience to actually read my comment. 😅

Exactly why I don’t play anymore, I’m done with getting flamed for not using exotics or certain pieces of gear when I’m not the one dying every single run of a raid

Man stuff like this makes me realize how lucky my lfg experience was. My first lfg was Garden of salvation and it was a div run. I lfg some new players and the Sherpa. The sherpa was a god tier player, he had the title gilded conqueror. Some other players were a bit toxic for some moments (tho I think most of us have had our outbursts when the tilt starts to kick in, I know one time I kicked a guy after an outburst much later in my d2 career, not my proudest moment). Then (after around 3 hours of div run garden) we finished I got my div, we all thanked each other and some left. Then the sherpa said "You ready for round two, I got some people that wanted to run vow, you in?" I naturally said yes. And they took me through vow they taught (although I was really stupid and didn't remember shit afterwards) me, and we parted ways. It was beutiful moment and I've tried to ensure everytime I join or make an lfg to give people that same experience I had my first day. I would say he shaped me to a degree into the d2 player I am. He and my other buddy that I met in gambit but that's a story for another day and thanks for reading this.

I think it's when you do find great people to play with in this game is what really makes it for me.

So the majority of the community that doesn’t do Raids at all should have a more valued weigh-in on end game content than players who clear multiple runs on a regular basis? That’s what I’m getting from this and that’s a WILD opinion to have.

I can concede that some of the content creators can get a bit eccentric, but they play the game daily and have an unparalleled insight on the game that Timmy No Thumbs couldn’t begin to comprehend so at least the opinions of those content creators have genuine weight behind them (even if they’re unpopular).

Additionally, and here’s the hard truth for casual players who come across this comment, if you WANT your insight to matter…get good. Seriously. I don’t even mean that in a derogatory sense. Get better, understand the game on a deeper level. Get a raid clear. Understand that raid inside and out. Sherpa people through that Raid. Do a Master run of that raid. Maybe even attempt a low man of that Raid AND THEN hardcore players will take you seriously, because you’ll be one of them. If you don’t want to raid, fine, but don’t piss and moan when players who understand it PERFECTLY have a more informed opinion than your own.

Oh, and to the weenies who are taking snipes at Gold, he doesn’t berate people because they’re bad, he berates them because they made mistake after mistake, didn’t take accountability for those mistakes, and proceeded to double down on being wrong. He gives ample warning of what’s expected, if you don’t like it don’t join/stay. If you actually watched his streams you’d realize that the majority of his runs aren’t even like the YT clips AND he has more Sherpas than most people have clears.
