Layoffs, recession, and 1 Crore salary? CTC vs take home salary, reality of IIT placements such as IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, and components of package are key elements of this video! So if you’re preparing for JEE mains 2023, just with this Rs 1 Cr package in mind, let us tell you the reality of it. Despite the economic uncertainty, many of the IITians have bagged packages of 1 crore and more. But all that glitters is not gold, in the same way; this package of 1 crore is not what it seems to be. Pre covid the Fixed-to-other components ratio was 70:30 but now it is 60:40 and even 50:50 in many cases. So the package of 1 crore or more includes Rs 15 lakhs of variable bonus which leaves you with Rs 85 lakhs. Now this is a reality check; Rs 85 lakhs of this package consumes a major chunk of health benefits, online training, relocation, joining bonus etc. In the take home salary of Rs 8.5 Lakhs/month there will also be deduction of ESOPs and 30% tax slab and more! So be wise and don’t make any wrong career choice based on the packages you see.
