Review of the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado HD 2500 Trail Boss edition. I found one, drove it, I'll show you it! More over, I vouched that for 2025 nothing major coming from GM, but that's not a bad thing, it just is what the history has showed us. This package is a 6.6 Duramax, but the truck in essence is the same. I'll show you the Towing numbers of the 2025 Chevy Silverado HD Trail Boss. Please like and subscribe and check out the videos below.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado HD Trail Boss?

Features
The Trail Boss has an off-road suspension, 20-inch black wheels, and off-road tires. It also has blacked-out front and rear bumpers, trim, and badges, and red recovery hooks.

Engine options

The Trail Boss comes standard with a 6.6-liter gas V8 engine that produces 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. A 6.6-liter Duramax Diesel V8 engine is also available that produces 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Trims
The Trail Boss is available on the LT and LTZ trims, which are in the middle of the Silverado HD lineup. The WT and Custom trims are below the Trail Boss, and the ZR2 and High Country trims are above.

Other updates
Other updates for the 2025 Silverado HD include standard adaptive cruise control on the High Country, a new Black-Out package for the Custom, and new 20-inch wheels for the Midnight Edition

just bought a 24 2500 Duramax, after coming from gas these things have a ton of power....lil heavier feeling in the front which adds stability imo, got a deal where the Dmax was basically no pulled anything yet but am sure it will long as emission issues stay in check ill be happy can see why people really like them though.... stocked up on fluids and filters, phenomenal truck so far!

Bought my 2024 2500 Duramax last July. Have 8, 600 miles on it now. Empty at highway speeds it's getting 18-19 mpg. Average combined mileage is in the 15-16 mpg. That's here in Colorado. We are practically neighbors. I'm in Brighton.

I just bought a used 2021 3500 High Country Duramax. I wasn’t looking for or wanting a diesel. Or, so I thought. Honestly, I was scared the them. (Still am. Even thou I’m learning how to take care of them) Because of the horror stories about the emissions and the high pressure fuel pump grenading and wrecking the entire fuel system. (CP-4/HP-4)
I wanted a gasser. Chevy or Ford. A number of dealerships didn’t have or struggled to find inventory in my price range. When they found trucks, dealers were unwilling to do dealer swaps, or they were very far away.
I was walking thru the used lot at my local dealer. And saw the D-max I ended up buying. It was a few thousand dollars cheaper than a new gasser.
The truck is in immaculate condition. Previous owner must’ve just drove it. The bed liner is perfect. No scratches or dings. The same with the bed hitch and bumper hitch. Factory paint in tact. The dealership claimed they knew the owner. And that they were an older retired couple and bought the truck to drive around the country seeing the sights. So far as I can tell, it’s seems that they were telling the truth. It’s by far the cleanest used vehicle I’ve ever seen.
I’m quite certain this truck is overkill for my uses. I tow from 8000 to 13000 lbs gooseneck and conventional. It’s is truly amazing the difference in power and stability between gas and diesel. I know I don’t need diesel for what I tow. But, I feel much safer and so much more stable when hauling horses.
As usual, great video. Thank you.

Looks like a nice truck to me. Had a lot of nice options that you don’t always see. I agree I’d rather have bucket seats at this point though.

I’d pick that tailgate over the other one. I love the power up feature. I use mine all the time.

I think the Trail Boss package is going to be a huge success.

I have not bought a "personal" truck in many years and mine ( I also have other even older farm beaters I drive ) has been on its last legs for some time ( rust gets them all up here in western Canada due to the winter roads. I debated between GM or Ford product and in the past test driving the Super Duty's I was not keen on how they felt ride or steering wise but will admit I haven't driven one of the newest editions either. Lately I called up a Chevy dealer to see what they had in the system ( not just that dealerships stock ) as per the employee pricing scheme this month on the 2024 models with certain criteria and he had zero availability to what I was seeking out as for some reason the gas 6.6 in the trim and options I was after must have been bought up or maybe not as popular to be dealer ordered at all compared to the diesel. So that meant swallowing an even bigger pill and ordering a 2025 with no rebates ( but am not paying MSRP ) as I could have bought a 2024 duramax at the same price if not even a bit cheaper than the gas 2025 model. Every HD they had on their lot is a diesel so it shows how many of them they sell and a similar theme with Ford with the volumes of diesels they sell up here. I always leaned in terms of the diesel before but with all the emissions issues they all seem to have in our cold weather, I figured it was the lesser pain to own a gas even though it will suck more fuel and have far less power. If the truck shows up and I sign my life away .. I'll be finding out what I think of a Chev 3500 gas 6.6 and either like or regret my choice. All vehicles have gotten so complicated with built in potential problems, while I would really like to be excited, its hard to generate much of an upbeat exciting prospect of owning a new vehicle, its sad to say but that is how I feel and of course the trucks are considerably more expensive up here with our Canadian dollar.

I have a question about an item that GM offers on their accessory list ( not a factory ordered item ) which is the keyless entry keypad that is glued onto the cab post behind the drivers door and I believe is a non serviceable part that once the battery dies in it, its junk and somehow has to be removed in order to replace with another one and its a dealer programmed type of unit. I have no idea how long they will last and if they are worth the effort ( have enough life span ).
