This is an evil thing to do to a child...as it strips them of all self Esteem...which they need to protect themselves from self destructive behavior, & predation from the world. I believe too the parent is jealous of the child, & this is their way of bringing the child down a notch, or two...

Its not unconscious, they're fully consciously doing this. There is no "accidental" in narcissistic relationships.

The most horrifying thing is the realization that the narcissistic parent actually enjoys it. They love to see the light go out in their children's eyes. Psychopath: "Psyche" "Pathos", means "soul which is sick". They are truly sick inside their souls, and relish the moment of killing their child's soul.

They are very Conscious of this horrific manipulative Behavior towards their child and will even brag about it once the child is an adult if given the opportunity to continue to hurt them they will and will brag about the past if any such conversation comes up... and twisted so you think that your recollection of they're hateful events and behaviors towards you is twisted so please don't say that anything they did or ever do is unconscious thank you

My mother all day. She knew what she was doing, though. It may have been unconscious in the beginning when I was about 9 but by the time I was teenager I knew full well she was saying and doing things on purpose. Not to mention some of the lies she'd use were too specific to be accidental.
