Moment pedestrian swears at a cyclist before she's hit and killed by a car

A partially-sighted and disabled pedestrian has been jailed for three years over the death of a cyclist she shouted at to get off the pavement.

Auriol Grey, 49, gestured in a "hostile and aggressive way" towards retired midwife Celia Ward, 77, a court heard.

CCTV footage recorded Ms Grey shouting “get off the f-----g pavement” moments before Mrs Ward wobbled into the road and into the path of a VW Passat.

Mrs Ward was pronounced dead at the scene following the incident on Oct 20 2020 in Huntingdon, Cambs.

Grey, who was described as "childlike", was convicted of manslaughter last week and appeared before Peterborough Crown Court on Thursday for sentencing.

The court had previously heard that police inquiries had failed to establish whether the pavement was a shared cycle-way or not.

Look how dangerous that road is, I’d have been on the path too. A local cyclist was killed here a few months ago, she was a member of a club and an experienced rider. A car clipped her on a busy duel carriageway where visibility was excellent, she died at the scene.
This poor lady was just out in a shopper bike, look how easily she fell into the road, that’s why she was on the pavement.

The family of the woman killed and the driver who will have to live with having killed someone.

It was ultimately her actions that led the poor old woman to swerve off and lose balance. She got 3 year's sentence in jail for manslaughter but I think it should have been at least 8 to 12 years. These abusers need to receive harsher sentences.

Definitely clicked on this video expecting to see some pure, unadulterated irony and instant karma of the lady who swore at the cyclist getting hit by a car... not the cyclist who got sworn at get hit. Kinda f'ed up to say this but... was kind of disappointed and even more saddened that it didn't happen the way I had originally thought it was going to
