CSIS warns 'smart city' technology can open door to attacks, foreign interference

Canada's intelligence service warns that technological innovations adopted by municipalities could be exploited by adversaries such as the Chinese government to harvest sensitive data, target diaspora communities and interfere in elections.

Really who would of thought that all this "smart" technology could be used for nefarious actions/reasons...

I already saw two summers ago the street with opened garage doors and car trunks with everything worth anything taken.

All these wi-fi hot spots has your neighbours just using your internet. All these bluetooth devices just interfere with your existing ones so now you can't use any of your devices.

You don't want smart technology. Trust me. Its worthless. I'm going back to basics. Old non-smart TV and hard line internet. Its safer and less of a hassle.
