A Polish Krab was hit in Ukraine. Some speculation that it was M109, but distinct signs show it was a Krab.

A tragic loss, but such is the nature of war. Hopefully these crews and their Krabs gave good mobile fire support service, and survived without injuries too severe.

So true, the important point is that hopefully the crew is still intact and healthy. Just a little review from Wikipedia, the Krab uses 155 mm shells which NATO should have plenty and the Krab has fired the Excalibur, with 50 km range. Thank God for Poland.

Praise to Poland: 54 Krabs sent, 54 more Krabs coming! Very good!

The bulge on the wheels would likely be a removable cap to cover the wheel bearings and keep their lubricant from getting dirty.

Don't worry boys. We will send you more KRAB howitzers from Poland.
Stay strong brave UA Heroes. I respectfuly salute you.

ID is correct. Multiple hits, maybe from a Russian tank or other direct fire weapon. One hit sustained on left front that removed the left front drive sprocket/drive assembly, the track, and at least one wheel which immobilized the vehicle. Another hit to the turret which destroyed it and blew it from the machine. Your picture shows the drive gear assembly closest to the camera with the drive sprocket toward the machine. That is the back side of the wheel, which is still aligned with the inside of the track. No dust cover because that is the recess for the inner wheel bearing.

It is said to see Krab being destroyed. The chasis is definitely that of Krab or K9. More krab's on the way? South Korea shipped the first batch, maybe 24, of K9's to Poland recently. And another batch will be sent early next year, with more units on the way. That means the entire fleet of Krab, just over 100, might be sent to Ukraine.
I think M109's will be very useful as well and could potentially form majority of Ukrainian SPH fleet. There are plenty of them available. The South Korean version of M109, K55, alone is well over 1, 000 available, of which some of them are getting old and requires overhaul. I hope South Korea send them to Ukraine.

Ukraine is bound to lose a few, but they are definitely making a huge dent in all of russias equipment and troops....keep up the great work Ukraine!

That hole in the wheel is where the bearing are installed. The lubricant cover is missing.

Lancet wouldnt blow a track and road wheel off. Its like a nlaw stuck on a drone. Not a powerful bang like a roadside bomb or mines going off. I reckon A mine did that.

Looks like the left front drive sprocket and it's transmission was hit by a smallish piece of ordinance. That would certainly disable it but any internal personnel should be OK. Definitely repairable if parts are available.

I agree with you, most important the crew is alive!

It is inevitable that Ukraine is losing equipment to the Russian invaders but disappointing to see the evidence. I hope the crews of the three units you mention, made it out okay. Thanks for your update. Always informative, always independent. 👌🇺🇦💪🇺🇦🇬🇧

Lancets can have HEAT warheads. They can take out armoured vehicles. Basically a flying handheld anti tank weapon that can also be fitted with HE, fragmentation or thermobaric payload

If you look at the road wheel that is a drive sprocket next to it. So it may well be a landmine which was responsible for this Krab. If so then this could suggest that the turret being blown off was either the crew putting it beyond use because the Ukrainians could not recover it, or possibly an artillery strike by either side.

😯 I would get a Ukrainian Farmer to drag that track home for me and I'd stand it upright in a circle, ⭕️ fill it full of dirt and plant beautiful flowers in the center!!😌🌱🌿🌻⚘️💙💛
Thank you!
