In the wake of the United State imposing sanctions against Russian tycoons Mikhail Fridman and Petr Aven, Michael McFaul, former United States Ambassador to Russia and representative of the Yermak-McFaul Expert Group dealing with sanction politics, spoke with Ekaterina Kotrikadze about the current state of sanction policy against Russian oligarchs. What should qualify someone to be sanctioned? And what then should they have to do to get sanctions against them lifted?

Fascinating Analysis! Thank You Sir. What is your opinion of Vivek Ramaswamy's position that he can trust Putin to keep his word on a Peace Agreement between the two Presidents? I personally can't believe it because Putin broke The Budapest Agreement signed by USA, Ukraine, and Russian Federation when Ukraine gave up its' nuclear weapons and he can never ever be assumed to be rational any longer.
