I've looked extensively at the market for an alternative to Microsoft for cost reasons. However, there are two main standout features to watch for which you didn't mention.
1. Working environment, whether it supports a project manager governance approach or a free for all where individual task assignees can essentially change the plan by altering the dates of their assigned tasks. More agile based perhaps.
2. You rarely find a competitor to Microsoft Project that also caters for saving a baseline.
Two important features if you don't want chaos and want to see how far you may have deviated from your original timeline. I think it's hard to beat MS since most companies already use them so the integration across the suite of apps is key to promoting less friction to workflow.

Mac friendly Gantt chart app such as OmniPlan and Merlin Project didn’t made to the list. Wonder if they are that bad.
