I’m thinking I should stick to the plan; I seem to try this and that and end up not doing any of it well. Great video! Makes me think of Elizabeth Cotton from my home state of NC. I was told it was her guitar tecnique that coined the phrase "cotton picking". She had a pretty awesome style.

If You Want To Sing Out Sing Out (Yusef Cat Stevens), and tried fingerpicking them with different 4-string patterns and rhythyms.
It's so beautiful!

Great video Lauren, I look forward to the complete series. I love your t-shirt. I was actually on the USS Ranger while they were filming the original Top Gun. At the time we were operating off the coast of San Diego. We pulled back into San Diego and I got temporary assigned duty orders to the USS Enterprise for more training while my ship was in-port. The film crew flew out to the Enterprise as well so I was lucky enough to see more behind the scenes. I'm actually in the movie because I worked on the flight deck however you really can't see me because the camera was moving left to right very fast as Maverick buzzed the island structure in his F-14. That's my 15th of a second of fame, Navy Mark...

I’ve always wanted to finger pick a guitar but lost the end of my pointer finger in a accident hopefully I can work past that I just wonder would it be better or easier to try to use the pointer finger or try to learn using my middle finger as the pointer and using my little finger more pain will happen if I try to use the pointer but I think If I kept with it I could get used to it and not hurt it the only way I’ll hurt it is by missing the string and grabbing it instead of plucking it if that makes since then I might be crying lol

This is great because you go really slow and assume we’ve never done picking before. Also the repetition is so helpful in disaplineing yourself to get this to be second nature
