Bay of Fundy is famous for its tides. The tides here are largest in size. In some areas, it can be as high as 45 ft !

Learn more about Bay of Fundy:

The bay is in the north east end of the Gulf of Maine between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia - two provinces of Canada. The tides go so high here due to the funnel shape of the bay. The wide mouth and narrow end creates huge tidal pressures responsible for so large tidal waves.

This is a good video for those who don't live or grow up near oceans or tidal areas so that they can learn what the saying "A rising tide lifts all boats" means.

The entire area is just gorgeous, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. We sat in a restaurant eating while we watched what they call a tidel bore I'm not quite sure if I'm spelling it right but it was so cool when the tide changes a wave actually comes down the river. One of the highlights that I have done in my life

We ate lunch at a restaurant by the bay. We saw the water rise 5 feet while we ate a leisurely lunch. We could count the rungs on a ladder disappear. Amazing.

Just imagine how easy it is to work on fixing your boat when the tide is essentially the lift.

As someone who's dropped their keys off a dock and spent hours feeling around and diving down before finding them, it must be nice to drop your keys and just be able to say, "Welp. might as well go grab a beer. we can come back in a couple hours and walk out their and grab em"

This reminds me of the network of canals that runs through the private beach colony in South Carolina where my uncle had a beach house when I was a kid!

So I guess you don't want to be late getting the boat back in from the fishing trip?
