So that's ok to join while in the workshop and plenty of space but do the same under the dash or somewhere else confined in the vehicle.. the other thing I would like to see is how you join 1 wire to an existing wire (splice) under the dash or kick boards

The way you twist the wires like that is going to create a short. The way you join wires is to connect them with a crimp and then crimp them together. The way you have the wires twisted in multiple places instead of uniformly joining them by laying them on top of each other and then crimping is going to cause a short.
