In this video, we discuss the different types of electrical cable and what is best to use in your self-build camper van conversion. We talk about protecting your cables with PVC flexible conduit.
We show you how to wire basic 12volt circuits for your camper van build, including wiring lights in parallel, wiring light switches, cable sizing and fuse sizing.

We also chat about Watts Law and how we can use it to work out our system electrical loads.

As someone who barely scraped an A-Level Physics 40 years ago and is now wishing I'd listened now closely (as I'm wiring my home solar/van system), I have to say that this is so well presented and explained that this should be a model for all such videos on YouTube! As I am starting building my own van now, I have came across many videos here. Most of them sound and look like a dance party. I'm not sure if you've covered this elsewhere, but another thing to factor into the wire size choice is voltage drop. Especially on 12v systems you can drop a significant percentage of volts over modest cable runs and loads.
