How to Build a Budget Gaming PC Without AMD

AMD is constantly overlooked by PC builders. So what would a budget PC look like without them? You might be surprised how this PC compares to its Intel/Nvidia counterparts.

Update on the DeepCool situation: as of posting the video today, it seems that DeepCool products have been removed from Amazon and Newegg, but seem to still be available on Walmart.

Upgraded my PC recently, went from r5 3600/ rx 590 to a r5 5600x/rx 6750xt plus some nvme and air cooling solution. Your videos really help out in terms of choosing great components. A lot of redundant information out there that new builders wont understand fully, so its nice to see someone condense that information in a neat package. Great value channel

I am making one budget build-
1. AMD Ryzen 5 5600 - $120
2. MSI B550 with Wi-Fi - $100
3. DDR4 16GB 3600 CL 16 - $40
4. Cooler $20
5. Case - $60 AIR 903 Base
6. NVidia 1660s- $200 ( I already had it)
7. power supply 500 - $40 already had it.
8. 500 PCIe 5000mbps SSD - $45

The problem with AMD is the stigma that most people are known for AMD. For Ryzen is over-reliance on TSMC, same configurations, 3D V-cache killed the lineup, while Radeon is infamous for driver issues.

The question is why would anyone do that? Ray tracing on low end Nvidia cards still sucks

I think this is one of those very specific price points with very specific specs where a laptop can actually outperform or atleast natch this pc, you can get yourself an acer nitro v or some other entry level gaming laptop with fully powered rtx 4060(which is basically the same as desktop version) with 13 gen i5, 16 gb ram and 512 to 1 tb ssd for 850 usd, plus it is a laptop so comes with screen, keyboard, speakers etc. andvall of that while bring portable.

I find it curious why people think the 4060 is bad, as far as im aware it doesnt even have the power connector that everyone melts down over with the rest of the 40 series

Simple. I5 12400 16 gb ddr4 and used RTX 2080 entire setup including the monitor cost less than $600

0:16 prices are wrong, 4070 hover around 600$ while 7800xt are found below 500$

The Nvidia 60 series isn't bad but is just a disappointment being optimized for 1080p vs the pricing. A lot of us went in a different direction not wanting to spend $600 (or close to it for the 4070) to play new games (at least until the 5060 series is released). If you are trying stable diffusion, run design software for your 3d printer, multitask, run editing software, ect. the Intel/Nvidia combo is going to be a smoother more compatible experience. You can definitely build an all AMD system that can do everything but you typically have to step outside of the budget realm to do the same tasks.

I always recommend using the stock coolers unless you're planning on doing serious overclocking.
If your CPU shipped either a stock cooler, then that means AMD/Intel have done the testing and determined that cooler is enough for normal use of that CPU.
If you discover heat issues later, coolers are generally easy enough to replace.
