legit my favorite moment in the Raimi spiderman films is when Green Goblin comes crashing into JJ's office demanding to know who takes the pictures of spiderman, and JJ doesn't even think before he starts insisting he doesn't know. he just had an argument with Peter Parker a few seconds ago, knows Parker is just through his door, and is under threat of his life from a terrifying flying goblin man. and yet there's no hesitation to lie to his face and say he doesn't know who takes pictures of spiderman and just gets them from an anonymous email. adds a lot to his character that not a lot of spiderman stories would care to give

I loved how they depicted Jonah in the Spectacular Spider-man cartoon. Tough ass nails, would defend his paper and his people to his dying breath, and loved his son more than anything.

Also gotta love how in the first Sam Raimi film he immediately lies to protect Peter when Green Goblin blows up his office and threatens to kill him.

"Spider-Man has no such opposite." Green Goblin. That... that is literally what the Green Goblin is as a character. He represents what Spider-Man's great power could become without great responsibility. Or even Doc Ock being representative of what Peter Parker could have become had he been pushed over the edge.

I didn't know this turn of character was a thing for Mr. Jameson, but I do really like it. After the change it kind of makes him seem like the Commissioner Gordon to Spider Man's Batman; the individual with influence that finally sees the value in the superhero and decides to be the boots on the ground for Spider Man. I'm really fond of this dynamic, especially when it isn't half assed. Gj Marvel writers, you did good.

I love both how JJ is now in the main continuity, being spidey's man in the chair. Same with him in the ultimate continuity, and his reaction there to learning who Spidey is.

Ultimate (Comics)- After learning his identity he becomes Peter supporter.
