Rode recently released the PodMic, which is supposed to be able to compete with legendary mics like the Shure SM7B, which typically sells at four times the cost. The Rode PodMic has been on backorder for a while now, I’ve found a place online where I was able to get in within a week.

This is my unboxing and first impression video of the Rode PodMic 2019. Rode has been really focussing on the podcast world. As podcasts are booming right now, I can see how getting involved in creating equipment to make podcasting more affordable and more accessible is the way to go.

I dig RODE products. Great video! I have 4 RODE Procasters for my studio right now, but if I ever need to get a replacement, I think I'd go with the Podmic... Except, it sounds like it's hard to find! The Procaster tends to do better with a Cloudlifter, do you think that's true of the Podmic? - Jay

Make sure that’s a legit Rode product. I won the My Rodecast Podcasting competition and won four of those and the packaging isn’t similar at all and mine were straight from RØDE.
