The people who are buying the PodMic USB over the original PodMic are buying it for the USB interface built in, and the ability to upgrade and expand their setup down the line by adding an XLR interface. Ideally, you would show the audio through the USB port on the microphone as the most realistic use case for this microphone is to be used through USB. Also in the recording it doesn't look like you are using it to it's fullest potential, the top of the mic should be right at your mouth, not quite eating it but no more than about 6 inches away, facing DIRECTLY where the audio is coming from. I see that you are responding to comments as new as a month ago, have you revisited an audio test like this in the 10 months since this short was uploaded?

If you want to use the XLR why would you not buy the original one for only $100

Sounds very quiet and noisy, which suggests that it’s very demanding of clean gain like an SM7B. Honestly, pretty bad value for $200 if it’s that gain hungry to the point you need a fethead or more expensive preamp to drive it. Sounds pretty thin too in my opinion. A Shure SM57 would absolutely obliterate this in terms of sound quality, and it’s $100 cheaper. Even a behringer xm8000 would compete with this and it’s like 20 bucks.
