Unboxing The Best BUDGET Microphone | The RODE PODMIC

I have been looking for a great microphone for a while now! I've been looking at the Shure SM7B but for those that don't know this is a very expensive microphone. Then I found the Rode Podmic, one of the best budget microphones for many reasons; specifically the price point. This is an excellent microphone for podcasting if you want the same quality as the Shure SM7B.

Actually your voice sounded better without the windscreen, however it's more about mic placement then. If you use a windscreen, y ou can afford to get up all in it and not really worry about plosives. However, if you go bareback, then realize you just have to speak a bit over the mic or at an angle to keep that plosive down. If you have a cloudlifter, you can turn that gain down, and it will help and keep the integrity of your voice. I do like both, but hell, let's admit it, it looks way cool without the windscreen. Great

For people on a budget in 2024 (& who don’t need the latest most fashionable gear) I just bought a used Zoom H4n Pro for £105 U.K. and a used Podmic including XLR cable for £65 U.K. The bargains are out there.
