A small tube of Loctite is an invaluable part of any good tool kit. You’re bound to come across a bolt or nut occasionally that you want to make absolutely sure that it won’t rattle loose.

Blue is good for almost any job. If you need red you need to make sure you won't be taking it off again. Red is a beast. I only use blue around the house.

Thank you for this video! It was the perfect length, very informative, and well-produced.

My favorite tool is a butane torch. I used loctite red on a shift knob and permanently welded it to the shifter linkage. This was a mistake. No amount of torque that I could manually supply would remove it, and more torque would likely damage the linkage. Thankfully loctite has a secret weakness. I heated up the shifter linkage near the shift knob with the torch and sure enough, was able to unscrew it. That's my story... don't make the same mistake I did.

As a Harley owner, loctite is my friend. Lol

If you have to use red instead of blue, use a fraction o the amount, like 10%.

Red seems just the thing for keeping the optic plate on your Glock, seeing as blue doesn't do.

I use blue locktite on all my knives. And if I ever need to take a knife apart its actually possible to loosen a screw with blue while keeping everything secure when I need it to be.

Red threadlocker is permanent. Milwaukee 1" impact "hold my beer"

The video and no comments thus far mention a key element to using threadlocker: there must be a complete absence of air for it to work i.e. it cures anaerobically when in contact with metal.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. So if I use blue loctite, and then I eventually need to remove the screw temporarily, when I screw it back on, do I just reapply?

Affixing a removable bolt with no nut holds but undoing it can be permanent, if blue is removable but not permanent hold shouldn't red be replaced for antiseize cause at times corrosion resistant braking will eat the product and so the bolts entirely lubricated won't rust maybe or collect road grime remember as I did for bearings Lubis as front as the part your assembly is requiring to change not actually backsides to the assembled lubricated area some times it shouldn't be done if you can't see that corrosion protection then apply it on the front so to speak it mite enter that by curing time so nlgi grades is a lubricant that if lubricates will wash off, try to do front wheel drives it's going to be sure less on the back but always inspect by looking and allow curing time so the products are carefully while they split wear off or become intermittent

Can the blue loctite used on plastic? Like screw to plastic, because most people says it would eat or break the plastic, making it cracked and stripped the hole..

So I’m assuming neither the red or blue loctite on exhaust manifold bolts would work because of the extreme heat? If heat is it’s weakness if you ever wanna remove the nut?

Good advice. I have a bolt on the trigger guard of my air rifle that keeps coming loose. I may give the blue a try👍🏻

I used some red thread lock on a bolt that I later removed very easily. I put a good amount of it on there too.

Your using 242 loctite which is not oil tolerant and should only be used on new or clean fastners
Anything with oil or contamination should use 243
