I remember posting on a Facebook group that I analysed the time taken between announcements and releases, and came to the conclusion that Splatoon 3 would likely be announced in January 2020 and release late that same year. If anyone cares to see my findings, please reply here.

well my initial thoughts on what might be happening is - Marina is off screen doing something and they could just add another picture showing what she is doing but im hoping for a new game instead

They did that with the first game, the final splatfest Mari won the last Splatfest, and so she became the "lead" of Splatoon 2's single player and you are looking for Cali.

I will say, Splatoon 2 never did pull me in like the first game had. . . I don't believe Splatoon 3 is coming anytime soon either but whenever it does come, I hope they add enough new mechanics and whatever for me to pick up and stick with it again. I really do enjoy the series.

DLC for Splatoon 2 is done guys. The only way we get more Splatoon related content is by getting a new game. As for the image, there are probably subtle reasons as to why Marina isn’t included in the first image they posted. If it were just promotional material, why would they leave out ANY of the 2 pairs for any image? Don’t just believe everything you read. If that were the case then you couldn’t believe 99% of the Nintendo rumors.

It's not a tease, they showed an actual picture of Marina holding the phone, taking a picture for the three of them. It's too soon for Splatoon 3.

if they do make the single player campaign local for splatoon 3 maybe they can make it agent 7 since we haven't seen them yet and 9.

Hisashi Nogami (Splatoon's producer) told Famitsu in July that they were still focused on the updates and hadn't even started planning the future yet. So Splatoon 3 wasn't even in the pipeline as of five months ago.

I doubt a new game is coming out anytime soon.

False alarm, this was just a picture of Marina. They did not leak splatoon 3

I would certainly hope not, there’s still so much they could add to splatoon 2. It still feels like it just came out seems like such a bad move to split the player base like that by releasing a newer title on the same system. I don’t want to see this series turn into another CoD with yearly releases, just build up the base you already have. I want the next splatoon game to be released on the next generation Nintendo console.
