You all are speculating unlikely things, because it will most definitely be the Champions Ballad DLC for BOTW as it's slated for a 2017 release.

The Champions Ballad DLC is a safe bet, I think. Anything else is gravy.

They're game award announcements have had a history of being... Either incredibly awesome or incredibly lame, with nothing in between, I think. So my predictions are: Either a new Eternal Darkness game by Retro as part of their 2018 lineup, or announcing a Poochy mode for the Switch Yoshi game. Nothing in between.

More realistically - One of Available Now on Zelda DLC pack 2, announcement of DLC kingdoms for Mario, for some reason thinking the Game Awards is the place to announce Animal Crossing Switch, or the first release dates of their 2018 slate with Yoshi and Kirby dates - Two realistically awesome announcements, two realistically lame ones.

(And the reason Animal Crossing Switch would be a lame announcement is that that franchise, while selling huge numbers - 11.25 on the 3DS, 11.75 on the DS - never shows well. Ever. Ideal for a Direct announcement, wasted on an event like E3 or the games awards.)

Ah, the days of 2015. Early trailers for Mario Maker, Splatoon, and the amiibo craze. It feels like it was just yesterday I was living on the internet for news about these things, and it's almost 2018. Time flies.
