The commander of the US Navy's Seventh Fleet has been relieved of his duty following this week's deadly collision between the destroyer, USS John S. McCain, and a merchant vessel east of Singapore. This is the 4th US Warship collision in less than a year. The US Navy also ordered an operational pause for its fleets worldwide to make sure all steps are being taken to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Is the US Navy still suited to providing "security and stability" in the waters of the Asia-Pacific? We turn to our panel to find out: Zhang Junshe, Senior Captain, Vice-President, Naval Research Institute of China; Rear Admiral Terry McKnight, who is a 31-year veteran of the US Navy.

The sailors were busy playing fidget spinners and the ship's radar was set to detect the federal bank negative interest rates.

Also the ship's onboard computer was an iphone and was navigating using apple maps. They should have used google maps.
