The electoral system in the United States needs a redesign, says political reformer Andrew Yang. Exposing the flaws of a system built on poor incentives, he proposes a cost-effective overhaul inspired by primary elections already working in places like Alaska and advocates for ranked-choice voting, where voters can choose candidates in order of preference regardless of party, stemming the influence of extreme ideologies.

End gerrymandering.
Open primaries.
Ranked choice voting.
This is the way.

These are the types of people who need to be president. Intelligent, collected, compassionate.

Andrew Yang, smart, logical, and to the point. I've joined the "overhaul the incentives" team.
Let's share the heck out of this video.

The fact that this guy not even made to D party top 5 candidates, already prove how bad our system. We lack the mechanism to push capable people to lead country. Look what choices we have now, I feel guilty to select anyone on the ballot.

I met him in person randomly when he was running for president and I remember telling him "I agree with everything you say but you are just to far ahead of the times for regular folk". I am glad he hasn't given up. He will be known as a visionary.

The system is so broken that it leaves anyone with common sense profoundly perplexed and disappointed. Thank you, Andrew, for providing much clarity amidst this chaos and hope for a better system!

1) Implement ranked choice
2) Make voting an opt out system and make voting day a federal holiday (because are you kidding me why isn't it one)
3) Overturn Citizens United

Do literally any one of these and it would fix American politics significantly

Other key reforms:
Zero stock trading for any govt employees while in office
Pass laws to prevent ANY politician from working for lobbyists ever after office
Same for military leaders and defense industry
SCOTUS term limits
Dramatic campaign finance reform (zero corporate dollars and even playing field for donors)

We really need dynamic leadership like this. The government is full of elderly people. The problem I have with that is elderly people reject the idea of any change. With the economic and technological trajectory we are currently on it could be dangerous.

As a Californian, I’m embarrassed that Alaska got ranked choice before us!

It's always fascinating seeing folks hate on Andrew Yang but never have a solution themselves.
