Bernie Sanders has said Democrats continue to do the same thing over and over and not fully appealing to the young voters. And it turns out Sanders was right. As a young voter, a few friends and I voted Harris but felt so disconnected from her. Those young men, some, likely felt that way and turned neutral or to the right.

I'm not a trump supporter but I feel like the Harris campaign spent too much time gaining support from young women when most of them were going to vote for her anyways while neglecting to gain support from young men and that's one of the reasons why the gap was so wide.

I grew up on a dairy farm. WE didn’t drink our own milk. No farmer I know did. Large scale dairy farms milk hundreds and even thousands of cows, twice a day. You’re slapping the pumps onto the cows so fast. It’s easy to miss a weird utter. And often they’ll look fine but pump out puss for a few seconds before the milk comes out. They can shoot out blood to. If you notice you take be pump off that utter, but it’s 100% guarantee you’re getting some in there no matter what you do. Once it’s in the tank, you’ll never know because the collection tanks are huge. That’s why it needs to be pasteurized before you drink it. The collection tank doesn’t do anything but keep it moving so it doesn’t separate. The only way to avoid it, is if you’re milking by hand into a bucket, and you better hope the farmer is willing to toss a whole bucket of milk if an utter spits out blood or puss. And from a small enough farm that they’re hand milking, I would bet good money they aren’t willing to do that. So there’s virtually no way around drinking milk with stuff in it you do not want to drink. This raw milk fad is just conspiracy theory nonsense created by the same anti vaxxers that started the covid vaccine fear.

Speaking as a veterinary student who has learned in depth the type of illnesses cows can carry and pass through their milk, choosing to drink raw milk is CRAZY. Might as well start eating raw chicken if using heat to make food safe is “unnatural”.

As an outsider (Brit living in Australia) I think the big problem the Democrats have had in these last two elections is that there were so many people who only voted Dem to vote against Trump. It wasn’t like 2008 where people went out to vote *for* Obama. People back then were passionate about Obama’s message and what his campaign stood for.

Nobody I’ve spoken to on the left has ever said they wanted Biden as president. They just didn’t want Trump. That big drop in Democrat voters? I can only imagine that’s just a huge swath of people who gave up, sick of voting for these candidates who’ve basically sold themselves as a centre-left alternative to Trump’s far-right offerings.

The Democrats need to get behind their next nominee now, and make it someone who their base actually likes rather than someone the DNC heads think is viable. If they run another “at least it’s not Trump” in 2028, whoever the Republicans put on the ballot is gonna steamroll them.

Imagine if it had been Bernie in 2016 or 2020.

There's a wide difference between pardoning a prisoner and a president. A president is supposed to infallible, but if the president doesn't adhere to the same laws that got another president to step down, you're doing a disservice to the people.

As a 26 year old man, I know that among my peers there is a huge sentiment that there are pervasive, systemic issues with the country. Housing is impossible, becoming an influencer seems like the only option for upward class mobility, and social isolation is at an all-time high.

The right is going to win that group because the right is WAY better at pointing the finger at a problem and saying they’ll fix it, even if it’s all lies. “Immigrants and China broke the economy, so we’ll stop them!” The Democrats offer tiny bandaid solutions that don’t inspire hope for change. If the Dems actually said “Yes! Huge corporations own the political landscape and they keep making more money and keeping it out of your hands!” then I think young men might pay attention.

I voted for Kamala, but I couldn’t name a single policy from her that I feel excited about at all. My friends all say the same thing.

We've all been fed the lie that "the kids will save us" and people are realizing far too late that it simply isn't true. It has quite literally never been true and I don't understand why we continue to put so much pressure on young people who are by no means inherently more virtuous than older adults.
