YEAH! WOO! - Vocal Sample (Loop) Think Break

i paused the comment section.

Woo! Yeah! is a drum break that includes Bobby Byrd's ("Yeah!") and James Brown's ("Woo!") voices which has been repeatedly used in popular music, often in the form of a loop. The drum break was performed by John "Jabo" Starks. It originates from the 1972 Lyn Collins recording "Think (About It)", a song written and produced by Brown, and is just one of a few other frequently used breaks contained in the recording, often collectively known as the Think Break.

Whoa yeh. Thanks a lot for this, Keglton! It’s nice to know that someone KNOWS! 😊 Yes, this sample has been used by quite a number of artists:
Cookie Crew – "Females" (1987), Fast Eddie – "Yo Yo Get Funky" (1988)
Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock – "It Takes Two, Slick Rick – "Children's Story, Simon Harris – "Bass! How Low Can You Go?, Roxanne Shanté – "Go on Girl" (1988), Beatmasters feat. MC Merlin - "Who's in the House"
And that was just the 80’s. Youngsters don’t recognize the origin of this sample any more..

La Toya Jackson – "Sexual Feeling, Boyz II Men - "Motownphilly", Alanis Morissette - "Walk Away, Simon Harris "SuperMarioLand", and Madonna – "Bye Bye Baby". Shocking Blue-Venus.G.H.F Remix. Twenty 4 Seven – "I Can't Stand It", Janet Jackson- “Free Xone” and even John Mellencamp used it in “I’m not running anymore” and a dozen more..
And that was just the 90’s. It doesn’t sound so *fresssh any longer 😉

Still The Beat Goes on and on into this millennium, too.: Katy Perry – "Use Your Love (2007), A Skillz feat. Beardyman – "Got the Rhythm" (2008), DJ Kool feat. Fatman Scoop - "It Takes Two", Sean Paul - "Get Busy" (2003), Fatman Scoop feat. The Crooklyn Clan " (2003), Crazy Frog - "Daddy DJ", (2009), The Black Eyed Peas - "Rock That Body (2009). Even Scooter used it in "The Question Is What Is the Question?"

Those are just to mention a few of the at least a couple of dozens more in the first decade of this millennium..

And well into the 2010’s.. : Zomboy – "Pump it Up" (2011), 2NE1 – "I Am the Best" (2011), Moonbootica - "Work Your Body" (2015), X2X - "Lamb" (2015), Black Eyed Peas - "Pump It Harder", Sidney Samson - "Trojan" (2014), Does It Offend You, Yeah? – "John Hurt" (2011). AND Not even Miley Cyrus was able to resist using “woo yeah” -sample in "We Can't Stop" (2013)

Have you heard the sample “yeah woo” used in the 20’s yet ? It cannot just fade away totally, can it?

Btw, *Fab5 Freddy used ” Fresssh “ first in Change the beat in 1982. It became popular When Herbie Hancock used it in Rockit a year later. Someone might want to investigate on this particular sample further :)

It feels way different if I hear it as "Woo Yeah" instead of "Yeah Woo".
