This is literally the first thing I taught peach at 8 weeks old. Generally speaking you want to use low value rewards and make sure the dog is totally comfortable with each step before proceeding to the next.

my puppy is a month old and he hates being in the kennel but what helped is I get him tired before putting him in the kennel and when I see that he wakes up I open the door so he can know that he doesn’t need to bark in order for me to open it. Once older I will train him to do the rest.

Thank you for this simple step by step. I have an 8 week old Belgian Mal also and have been crate training her with success until I went away for 2 days and came back to finding out the person watching her never put her in her crate once. So now back to the beginning.

Over what period of time do you do all this? Day, days, weeks?

I wish that I could take my mini Aussie for a long walk. He is took scared of the cars, barking dogs, airplanes, and meowing cats. I have to carry him halfway and then he will run home in terror. It is more of a fear run than a walk. I have never had a puppy before, all of my dogs were at least 8 months before I took them over. He was raised by the Amish, so I'm thinking that is why he is so scared of cars.

When you’re at the point that you’re treating through the door of the crate, do you only treat once, then open the door and let them out, and then treat again once they go back in and close the door? Or do you sit in front and treat repeatedly with the door closed? This is the point I’m at with my 2 year old Dutch shepherd and that’s where I’m stuck

I can't do this with my impact crate. I don't have the door with the bars. I have the vent holes in the front. My 5 month old Giant Schnauzer Pup was doing fine but now he won't go in the crate unless it's meal time.

Do you reward with treats or regular food for a nine month old puppy?

Which is better, a crate or a playpen? Or are they fairly the same? I have a 3 month old toy poodle. Thank you!❤

He’s forgetting to tell you to let your dog out after this so they don’t explosively shat all over their kennel

I want your crate! I don’t like the plastic ones. I currently use wire but the staffy I’m fostering broke through it. luckily he was ok. He had no prior issues with the crate. I have another crate that is much stronger but hard to move. A bit too small for him. Hopefully I’ll be able to invest in a few in the near future!!! ❤️🙏🏼💜

Are these crates available for sale used or for rent. I'm not paying full price for this

What size crate is this? And at how many months will you upgrade the size?

I recently bought a dog house for my rescued dog. But she's super fearful of everything new and refuse to go near it. I've tried putting treats and her toys in it, I put her dog bowl near it and she just won't go near it. Any ideas?
