I genuinely love this series (and the Heroes of Olympus) and seeing these movies disappointed me. There were so many things that were missed and should've been better. This series could be just as big or maybe bigger than Harry Potter if given the right marketing, production, and cast.

It’s actually her mother that controls winter vs summer, when Persephone is in the underworld her mother is so inconsolable the earth goes cold and when she gets her daughter back she’s happy and the earth goes back to warm. Persephone was supposed to stay in the underworld forever but after years of endless winter the humans were dying and starving so Zeus made a deal with Hades that for only a few months each year she would go down there.
