Video sponsored by Intel. Intel's Arc A770 and A750 graphics cards impressed us on modern games running under Vulkan and DX12, delivering strong benchmarks against Nvidia's RTX 3060. However, raw frame-rate numbers are one thing, but how you actually use a GPU in gameplay is quite another. In this video, Rich spends a few days with an Intel Arc A770, tuning his favourite games for the best balance of resolution and features!

I hope Intel gets a foothold in the GPU market, because competition is desperately needed and these really seem like a good start. Just need to get rid of the couple issues they currently have.

Once the driver issues get sorted out, I think these will become very popular options for gamers on a budget. Amazing stuff!

Really fun change of pace in the content style. Prices and benchmarking nowadays make PC gaming seem so far out of reach, so a more down to earth build is nice to see

It was mentioned recently that Intel are looking to use DXVK (used in Valve's Linux compatibility layer) to translate older DirectX API games to Vulkan for better performance, and so that they don't have to maintain their own implementations of the older DirectX versions in their own drivers. I'd be interested to see an update as soon as this materializes to see how well the Arc cards handle these older titles.

This generation seems more like a stepping stone. In 2/3 generations the Intel line could be taking on the high end nVidia parts with hardware RT, and if they can do it with greater efficiencies _and_ lower pricing, THEN things are going to get really interesting and exciting.

The one thing that's really interesting with Arc is that the higher the resolution the better it does even native.

God damn this runs pretty well at 1440p. And at that price? Wild. So good these competitive cards are being made. Xess seems to be getting better too

I really want the A770, especially to support the new challenger in GPUs. This video makes me want it even more! I have a 1080Ti that still does just fine in everything I play, but I really want to play some of the RTX updates to older games like Minecraft and Doom. Unfortunately, I have to upgrade my whole rig to get re-bar. Now isn't a great time for me to upgrade, so maybe next year.

Intel released newer drivers yesterday or the day before, with some DX11 performance improvements. I think it's worth doing a update video in a few months again after a batch of driver updates have been made.

Last year during the crazy gpu shortage this release would have been incredible. Still a solid option today tho

Great video. Love vids that show more affordable builds.

Intel dropped new drivers for older titles. If a cursory investigation makes it seem warranted, I'd love to see a short form [10-15 min] update video for DX9, etc. Thanks!

I really enjoyed this video. It’s cool seeing what kind of real world experiences you can get instead of comparing cards at max settings.

I loved the more popular and practical approach you took here! I think any DF video can gain in quality when any of the team finds a fun and not stressfull way of dealing with your analysis. I think it would really benefith GPU reviews to have a more practical view like this. Besides, this is much easier to grasp other than just raw numbers. Great work!
