Thanks for your candor, Warren. Especially the answer to the last question was very thoughtful and visibly came from great experience, but with a lot of heart as well. We're lucky to have you on YouTube!

6:33 - 7:23 I found this channel by accident a couple months ago and instantly felt a kindred spirit. If I can be anything, I want to be the guy that lives and teaches what Warren Huart taught in this FAQ. It's so foundational to everything in life. Well said! Now I know what it was that drew me in, even above all the wonderful technical and creative content.Thank you!

It may have been asked before but here it is: When you're the mixer and producer, how do you know when a mix is finished? It seems like everytime I let a mix sit for a couple days (a mix I'm really happy with), I always find little things I want to fix when I go back to it. So, is a mix ever finished or are we only deciding to stop the work and consider it done?

Thankyou for your words of encouragement... It is tough, career, parents, passion and responsibilities...when none of these go as planned and it feels like you are disappointing everyone, even yourself... But seeing your Q&A's/FAQ's really help to answer some of the confusions and helps me to give that extra bit of effort to push through... So thankyou Sir.

Absolutely spot on. Keep calm and solve the issue. Getting annoyed with the problem will cloud your judgement to the problem.

Thank you Warren!
For the last question I would like to add: just keep going, if your mind isn't "in the zone" of making music, just do it anyway. Once you start before you know it you will be playing for hours! At least that is my experience with a 40+ hours unrelated job to music. In the evening, every minute I got I'm doing something with music. Playing in bands, working on songs or simply just watching Warren's videos!
A lot of days I have to put myself to it, but once I start, I won't stop.

This was a great FAQ. I love the humility. That is one of the main reasons i subscribed. You are fantastic and I have learned so much from you.

The Produce Like A Pro Academy is wonderful. I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in producing and/or mixing. I did the 14 day free trial then signed up for the membership. I am so impressed with the Academy that I just got the lifetime membership!

This has been one of my favorite faq friday's, especially the question about how do you manage to do it all. I've been wondering that myself, especially how you balance an insane work ethic with being a husband and father. Please pardon me if this is too personal, but how do you manage to balance family life with work life? I'm asking as someone who has lost relationships and gone through divorce.

Your advice isn't just relevant to music production, but it's also good life advice. Thank you, Warren, for what you do.

My problem is not creative blocks, it is the need for blocks of time for creation. I always enjoy FAQ Friday. Cool bass!

Hi Warren, let's say I'm hiring a freelance singer to do the vocals on my music. What steps should I take to protect myself legally on the off chance that I make it big and the singer decides to claim additional fees/royalties at some point in the future? Thank you.

Thank you! I really related to this FAQ Friday. My "day job" can be quite taxing and I do work long hours 7 days. I suck at guitar, bass, drums, recording, mixing.... but I love and enjoy the escape. And a new amp arrived here yesterday!

Loved your response regarding things not going as planned. In my high school, I oversaw our sound department for our theater (graduated this year), and something always went wrong. The worst failure was definitely when the entire control surface for our Soundcraft Vi1 failed. It happened during a rehearsal, and we had to restart the board with over a hundred kids on stage and the director yelling at us. We've had people get sick and lose their voices, so we worked around the problem and used playback! There's no point in panicking!

The last question really struck a chord with me. As a father and husband working a full time job it’s really hard finding inspiration, and being creative when you feel so drained from life itself.

The struggles of failure are immediately replaced by the struggles of success. Good stuff Warren!

I won't say that you're the best (would be missing the point) but you're an humble inspiration, thanks Warren!

How do you keep from producing or writing music that sounds or feels similar? How do you keep your music sounding fresh and new or just different from previous projects?
