How do you apply this method to (for instance) x^2-20x+2 = 0 .... ac=2 and b=-20?

2x^2-5x+2=0,
You need not apply any formula here
Straight away you can form the equation
×+1/×= 4+1/4, this gives
×=4or 1/4, very easy
Only when in a×^2+b×+c
b=-a^2+1 or b= - c^2+1, a=c
