Jasper Mayor Richard Ireland said as painful as it was to see the first pictures of damage in his community, he has been calmed by the outpouring of support from Canadians.

Sadly this is what happens when you don't do fire mitigation. This being in a Federal governed National park was not the responsibility of the AB government. This is solely the issue with lack of proper management by the Feds. I hope the local population got out safely.

I have traveled through jasper many times this year and a few times in the last 2 weeks. The town was surrounded by dead trees. As painful as the loss is knowing that jasper and the province did nothing to mitigate the fire hazards. A fire break could have easily surrounded the town. If I were a resident I would be so angry at the failure of jasper council and the province.

Forest management has been non existent while we support the Ukraine and immigration. The Canadair CL series water bombers are a Canadian product that we export while Justin burns money flying around the planet like a spoiled playboy. This was avoidable. Condolences to the residents and business owners.

These fires would never gain such power if Trudeau would by hundreds of the much larger amphibious 4 prop aircraft from Japan. We need to greatly expand the equipment that we have. Cut off welfare to 100, 000 young healthy lay-abouts and train some to fight fires!

When i visited Jasper more than twenty years ago, i felt every Canadian should see that awesome part of Canada. Today, my heart is broken, but i will pray for rain to stop the fire. Much love❤❤❤

How do you rebuild an entire town in todays material prices. Suggest we temporarely allow special emergency help such as removing all taxes from lumber/frames/joice, roofing materials specifically marked for jasper reconstruction. No tax fees on permits, law documents etc. Apply for two years in Alberta only.
