Is Sidney Crosby a Diver?

Team Canada has remained unbeaten in the Olympics at Sochi but many questions remain. Firstly, Sydney Crosby is not gelling with any his linemates and is failing to produce better numbers. The forwards also are not scoring as they are normally accustomed. However, all problems aside, in Canada vs Finland prior to the quarterfinals, Sydney Crosby went down farely easy. Teemu Selanne made it a point to address Crosby head-on at what was perceived to be a dive. Has Crosby earned the label "diver" in the NHL?

I think that Crosby was fishing that penalty. I can say that Jarkko Immonen, who checked Crosby isn't so powerful that he can push Crosby over. Many NHL stars have said that Crosby is the most difficult player to take the puck from. And that was a little push, Jarkko is very small for a hockey player and in that conclusion not as strong as Crosby.

Crosby is one of the hardest guys to knock down, he is very strong on his feet. He definitely dives and he did dive in that clip. Yes Crosby is a diver.

That was Sami Lepistö who gave him that prolific open ice hit (i don't know if that's a thing). Finnish people were mad at the call, but looking at that from retrospect that might not have been a dive even. Canada winning in overtime was soooo annoying..

that looked a LOT like so many football hits where somebody folds before you get there... you wanna crush them, and they go down and it looks like a hit but there was almost zero contact... looked like a dive to me but that's definitely one of his better ones, not hugely bothered by that in particular, far more bothered by the diving penalty meaning that somebody gets a tripping penalty as well...

Michael called this one correctly. Has Crosby ever dived? Sure but so has just about every player in the NHL. The reason Crosby gets so much shit is because Philly fans hate him so much and continue to spread their hatred of him.
