Not an ad but it might as well be. I'm a big fan of the OP-Z and am learning the OP-XY. Thought I'd share some initial thoughts on the differences.

(sorry, wrong thumbnail earlier)

That step shape is a big thing for those of us who don’t use these things for 4/4 beats or gridlocked music...added to the really high resolution note recording that’s powerful as a midi recorder and sequencer

They seem so similar except OPXY can swap engines on each track, what's main difference to you?

Thx! How would you discribe the fidelity difference and output level?

On the Z i would jump quickly from one pattern to another in between bars taking advantage of the instantaneous switching, which gave very cool breaks and variations and also some unpredicatable results which was nice...I take it this has changed with the new structure? Is one able to still do things like this?

Hello, my question is the following: If you input audio "in real time" does the master track of the effects work for said audio in real time without the need to sample said audio? thank you

Can you live transpose chords / arp like you can on Analog Four?

I like to have the same preset in each scene of the same track across the whole project. Does XY behaves like that or once you changed engines in one scene you need to copy it to others. If so, how easy to do this?

4:24 you can put any engine on Z as well with the configurator

The price is crazy and I think I will have to often watch used deals next year. :)
Anyway my question for op-xy is:
q1: Is it possible to change the BPM for each pattern within the same project on the OP-Z? Currently, the BPM setting in the OP-Z applies globally across the project. It would be great if the OP-XY offered the option to either set BPM individually for each pattern or keep it global for the entire project.

q2: Does the OP-XY provide an option for editing or accessing recorded step components between steps?

q3: Does the OP-XY offer a more flexible note-length adjustment for a selected step component? On my OP-Z, when I change the note length of a selected step component to 3 (for example), I can't reset it back to 1(though this maybe only issue with my op-z)

Did you get it from TE directly from thier site or a store in the US? I only see preorder available for US stores.

You kind of glossed over pattern chaining. How does that work?

Do you have an OP-1 ? if so have you connected as a USB Host yet? Just checking if the OP-1 can receive midi notes from the XY. Thanks

Can you sequence the pitch bend, on the opz you couldn’t record the pitch bend.

Can it do longform recording into a sequence (like the SmplTrek)?

What’s the difference? Oh only about 2000 dollars is all.

No one talks about one feature I’m glad they added. That’s the mod wheel bar. Hopefully I said it right. That is crazy cool to me as I like playing keys.

I don't think this product is for me. I really like the fast workflow on the op-z. This looks like they are trying to cram a DAW into an OP-1 field form factor.
